DEC 2024: SOUTH AFRICA & ZIMBABWE # 8 : KIRSTENBOSH BOTANICAL GARDEN
Today's event is relaxed, because we will visit KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDEN.
Which is located at the foot of Mount Table Mountain. This garden is only one of the 10 parks found in South Africa.
Here it is very cultivating the authenticity of a plant. Only in 1913 became a botanical garden to preserve the original flora from South Africa, was the first in the world of such philosophies.
This park includes a large conservatory, there are a variety of plants from a number of different areas. Including Savana, Fynbos, Karoo and others.
In 1660, on the orders of Jan Van Riebeeck, it was planted with almonds and thorny bushes, to limit the residential area of the Dutch population. Until now we can still see it.
Before entering the area, 2 large statues are displayed, namely the heads of people and nuts. Very unique.
And not far from the entrance. There is a statue of Mr. Nelson Mandela.

The name Kirsten comes from the name of the manager in the land in the 18th century, namely JF Kirsten.
While Bosch comes from German which means forest.
In 1811, this Botanical Garden was controlled by the British. And there are quite a lot of changes. As planted with a chestnut tree and baths that are irrigated by natural springs.
Since 1913, this garden has been managed by The National Botanical Garden of South Africa, National Botanical Institute and South African Biodiversity Institute.
And in 2013, it was declared the most beautiful garden in Africa.
Of course there are restaurants, tea rooms, exhibition halls and concert stages.

All grass, and trees are still being cared for neatly. We walk casually in the cool and clean air. Really gives inner calm. Plus go with friends who are like their own family. IM Group is very fortunate to be able to visit and enjoy all this. We must have enough time, to be able to visit all locations from a country. Not only common ones, but we visit all local places.
In addition, the time is not hunted, we can sit relaxed while enjoying it. This is one of the advantages of IM Travel.

Before returning to the hotel, we visit first DIAMOND CUTTING PROCESS.
The shop is quite large. Usually – when we came to be given a refreshing drink. Only after that the beautiful pramuria explained all the ins and outs of pearls.
From the newly found stone to the way it is slaughtering. Also he explained the owner of a big pearl in the world.
When finished, we go to the shop. Because it seems that no one is interested in buying, they offer other gemstones that are cheaper. Still no one bought.
On the bus I joked to Shakier. Now I can't afford to buy. Wait later I will win the lottery, I will definitely return to buy it.
Time passed quickly, it's time to dinner and rest. (ES /IM)
